Michael M. Grant

Welcome!

photo of dr. michael m. grantHi! I'm an assistant professor of Instructional Design and Technology at the University of Memphis in Memphis, TN. Feel free to poke around my site. I've included descriptions of my teaching, research and service areas. My research and teaching considers three complementary areas: (a) the design of learning environments; (b) graphic and instructional designs to support learning; and (c) key learner characteristics. In addition, I've included links to a number of the publications and presentations I've produced.

I’m also the director for the Advanced Instructional Media Laboratory (AIM Lab) and advise the Instructional Design & Technology Graduate Student Association. I earned a BS in Graphic Communications and a Masters of Industrial Education at Clemson University in SC, and received my Ph.D. from The University of Georgia in Instructional Technology. I was recently selected for the American Educational Research Association Special Interest Group for Instructional Technology’s 2005 Young Researcher Award.
