 <description>&lt;p&gt;The Department of Health and Sport Sciences is seeking a graduate assistant for the Health Promotion Concentration. The responsibilities for this position include assisting the faculty in converting the traditional Health Promotion Masters Program to online delivery and working with internal/external advanced learning support staff.  Experience in online course development is needed. Full-time assistantships require 20 hours of work per week in the department, pay a stipend for a full -time GA of $7000/yr- paid in 8 monthly payments PLUS include a full tuition and fee waiver (including out-of-state tuition, if applicable).&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Apple workshops wrapped up</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Thursday marked the wrap up of the free Apple Workshops offered by the IDT department, November 10-12. Five workshops were presented by Senior System Apple Engineer, Tim Matheny, on iLIfe’09, MobileMe, Apple Show and Tell, Mobile Learning, Digital Video, and Enhanced Podcasting. Around 200 participants attended the workshops, some of them in more than one. The IDT department would like to thank Tim for his lively presentations, as always.&lt;/p&gt;

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Dr. William Carmichael has been appointed as Campus Dean of the Washington, DC Strayer University Campus.  Dr. Carmichael has over 30 years of business and leadership experience in the technology, service, and food service industries as well as in the university classroom.  He joined Strayer University in 2004 as an Adjunct Professor of Business, transitioned into full-time in 2007 and later that year, became a Campus Dean at the Thousand Oaks Campus in Memphis, TN and assisted in the new campus opening in Fairview Park, OH. He holds an earned Doctorate in Education from the University of Memphis with a concentration in Instructional Design and Technology. He has an MBA from Belhaven College, a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Samford University and an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma College of Business&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Trick or Treat So the Mid-South Can Eat -  U of M GSA Food Drive</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;The Graduate Student Association, GSA, of the University of Memphis will be hosting a Halloween canned food drive to benefit the Memphis Food Bank and MIFA. All who are interested in participating will meet at the home of Kathy Walkley, GSA member, at 5:00 p.m. and will then go “Trick or Treating” for canned foods. Families are welcome and please wear family appropriate costumes. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;After collecting canned goods, we will return to Kathy Walkley’s home for a potluck dinner, so bring your favorite, delicious dish!&lt;/p&gt;
